Dr. Della Weaver
Principal
My name is Della M. Weaver. I am honored and humbled to introduce myself as the Principal of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran School for the 2023-2024. First, welcome to all returning families as well as to all new families. Hopefully, you have enjoyed many memorable “Family Moments” with your children during this summer break that will help to sustain you through times of trails and gladden your hearts even more through triumphant times. Family is very important to me. I welcome and cherish this opportunity to continue serving St. Paul! Whereas, I know the returning St. Paul School Families, and look forward to meeting the new families, my goal is to get to know each and every family even better through our interactions during this school year. You are in my heart and prayers.
I came to St. Paul as a seasoned Chicago Public Schools (CPS) elementary school teacher with experience in teaching, literacy instructional coaching, administration of after-school programs, mentoring new teachers, designing, developing and implementing a schoolwide Young Author Program, and coordinating a parent program. My work at St. Paul School began in 2013. During this tenure, I have served as Title I Teacher, Reading Instructional Coach, Upper Grade Math Teacher, Provided Small Group and 1-on-1 Instruction and Interventions, Presented Professional Development, Assistant Principal, and New Teacher Mentor. Education is my passion!
Dr. Robyn DuBose
Instructional Coach
My name is Dr. Robyn Jacks-DuBose, and I have the honor of being the Coach at St. Paul Lutheran School. I love St. Paul School. We push our students to achieve beyond their expectations! We set the bar high and our students rise to the occasion. They are great scholars!
My career in education started with Chicago Public Schools (CPS). I served in various positions from Classroom Teacher, Lead Teacher, Director, Curriculum Coordinator, Literacy Coach and Assistant Principal. I left CPS, because I was missing something as an instructional leader. The missing something was GOD. Christian Education inspires our students to serve, to discover their truths, and to have tolerance of others. This is so important. I had the pleasure to serve as Principal at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran School.
I have a doctorate degree in Education Administration and Supervision, and I am a Van Lunen Fellow in Executive Management in Christian Schools.
Sharon Hill
Office Administrator
Mrs. Sharon Hill-Hunter came to St. Paul fifteen years ago from Altgeld Elementary School and St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church. She began in the classroom as a Pre-K and Kindergarten teacher before coming into the office as an administrative assistant. She is also the director of the school choir, the Christmas and Easter programs, and the praise dancers. Her hobbies include singing, styling hair, teaching Bible classes and writing plays. She is married with six children and ten grandchildren. Her favorite thing about St. Paul is sharing the Word of God with all who enter.
Shermaine Herndon
Early Childhood and Kindergarten Teacher
I love the small family-oriented Christian environment that St. Paul School provides. I was a St. Paul School parent before becoming a St. Paul teacher. Faith and family are so important to me. I have three children who graduated from St. Paul School and currently have a son and two granddaughters who attend. I believe in the school’s mission and the legacy it leaves for generations to come.
When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my family. I love cooking, gardening and reading. Each day is a gift and I love working with the children, planting seeds of encouragement and sharing the Word of God.
Johnathan Lee
First and Second Grade Teacher
Hi, I am Johnathan Lee, the 1st and 2nd grade teacher at St Paul Evangelical Lutheran School. While this is my first year teaching early childhood education, I believe this is my true calling. I have an Associate Degree in the Arts. I am currently working towards my Bachelor of Arts Degree, in which I have taken several courses in education. I have many years of experience working with children in various mentorship programs. In fact, I had the privilege of working at St. Paul Lutheran School during the Summer Boost Program where I connected with many of the students. I am a Freelance Multimedia Artist. My mediums consist of digital and film photography, videography, painting, graphic design, and various other mediums.
While I am new to the St. Paul Lutheran School family, I feel like I am at home and exactly where God needs me to be. St Paul Lutheran School has a legacy of teaching students about the Gospel and the life of Jesus Christ. I am honored to be a part of that legacy. I am impressed with the close-knit environment of the school and the solid parental involvement. It truly does take “an entire village to raise a child” on the right path, and it is my passion to help guide, and be a mentor to our students.
